Six years ago, we released the beta version of AD FastReporter, our first software tool designed to simplify the process of reporting and managing Active Directory. Since then, we have continued to improve our products, and today, we are excited to announce the latest updates to AD FastReporter.
AD FastReporter was initially built using .NET 4 framework with WinForms GUI. As time passed, we realized that we needed to upgrade to a more modern GUI. That's why we built our next product, NTFS Permissions Auditor, using the same .NET 4 framework but with a more modern WPF GUI. We quickly realized that WPF was the future, as it looked more modern and was much easier to maintain, with the ability to easily implement custom features.
However, converting from WinForms to WPF was no easy task, and time was limited. But we were determined to make it happen. After many long hours of hard work, we finally built AD FastReporter GUI from the ground up using WPF. Along the way, we added the ability for users to add their own fields and made other improvements to the architecture.
From the start, we have offered perpetual licenses with unlimited updates and customer support. However, as our customer base has grown and our software has become more sophisticated, we found it increasingly difficult to invest more and expand the range of capabilities of AD FastReporter.
That's why we decided to switch to an annual subscription license principle. This will allow us to actively add new and expand existing functions, while still providing our customers with the highest level of service and support.
We want to reassure our loyal customers that you don't have to worry - we will keep our promise, and you will always have access to updates and customer support for life as before. Those who purchase the new license with its key will be able to enter it into AD FastReporter 2023 and use all Pro functions for 1 year. After 1 year, Pro features will be disabled, but you can still use AD FastReporter Free features. You will need to purchase the Pro 1 year license again to continue using all Pro features.
We have received numerous requests over the years from people who wanted to try the Pro features, but we were unable to offer a trial license because our previous perpetual licensing model didn't allow for it. But now, we are excited to announce that we have built in a very good trial license functionality and can quickly and easily create trial licenses.
